In the heart of Paraguay, a foundation was born with a clear mission: to bring light back to eyes that had lost it. FundaVer, as it is affectionately called, began its journey in 2017, driven by the dream of Dr. Juan Carlos Ginés and Dr. José Daniel Cardozo to bring eye care to those most in need.

In 2019, they found their home in Mariano Roque Alonso, a place that would become the headquarters of this noble cause. But fate had an unexpected challenge in store: the pandemic. Yet adversity only strengthened their resolve. On August 16, 2021, they finally opened their doors, ready to brighten the lives of thousands.

Since then, FundaVer has been a beacon of hope. Over 2,500 patients have found relief through their expert care, 70 cataract surgeries have restored clarity to weary eyes, and 4 corneal transplants have opened new windows to the world. Each of the 3,500 kilometers traveled stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment.

Every patient treated, every surgery performed, is a story of transformation. It’s the child who sees the colors of the sunset again, the grandfather who recognizes his grandchild’s face, the mother who can read her child a bedtime story. FundaVer doesn’t just restore sight—it restores life.
